This is the process of developing marks,using various means such as paint,wood,brushes and even parts of your body like your hair and fingers. This done to create different art works,every mark can make meaning and send out a message depending on the designers intention for developing the mark.
In this task I developed a few marks of my own. Initially before I started this task I had no idea of what mark making was. This came as a challenge to me since I was dared to find what it really entails.
After researching a little I acquired a fair understanding of what mark making was. I went ahead to develop my first mark making samples, though I had a few glitches here and there I managed to pull through with a few works.
After my first mark making attempt,I decided to do some more. Through out this task I applied simple tools such as markers,felt pens, color pencils,spray color, paint, leaf, paint brush and my fingers. I ended up with a few more sophisticated marks which I was happy with.
By undertaking this task I learnt how creative I can be. Also I realized that I portray a message to an audience by using marks not necessarily drawing an image.
Reflection
Mark making is an interesting and exciting art technique and through research I found out that it is not only used in the field of graphic designing but also in other design fields, for instance in fashion design mark making is used in making tie and dye fabrics. Mark making can also be used on different occasions for different purposes, it can even be used for home decorations.
