Some Other Ideas

I had some other ideas for my game which I have decided to put in my game. I included some sub characters and obstacles to make my game more interesting.

The KFC bucket is an obstacle because I would also like to talk about the different food which can be found in Mantin so junk food contradicts the originality of Mantin.

Development

I also had to start experimenting color schemes for my environments. Using the same software for my character I applied different colors which gave me different responses. These experiments are necessary since the give you an idea of how your end product should look like.

Development

I started playing with costume colors and also complexion of my game character. I used software to apply different color schemes which gave me different results.

Idea Development

Having settled on the designs for my contents, I started to develop my ideas. The first thing I did was to make a sketched design of my game's start page.
It is a simple design with the face of the character on it.

The front page has the title of the game and 3 buttons on it. It is not too crowded and this is in line with my ideas since its a very simple front page.

Environment

After finally settling for a character I begun to sketch out the designs of my environment. My environment is to show Mantin as we know it but most importantly to let everyon know that the Mantin every traveler has knowledge of is not all Mantin is is made off because there are places behind the linear Mantin we know that we do not see hence making me represent this idea with mazes to show the part of Mantin we do not see and a linear layout of the Mantin we know.

Content and Visual Approach

After my analysis of  my audience I started working on my content and visual approach. I started with the designing of my character. I started out with a few sketches and ideas for the character.

After a few sketches I settled for a character. My character is an imaginative one but also very much looks like a man. This character represents a traveler going through Mantin.

Target Audience Analysis

At this point I had to determine my audience and analyse them carefully. My audience for this game are mainly young children between the ages of 7 to 12 years old.
After identifying these group of people as my target audience I had to identify what was going to attract them.
I realized from my references which are the games which were analyzed most of the people who fall in this group are attracted to bright colors and also imaginative shapes.
Therefor making me aware that my game should follow the line of most the previous games analyzed.

Analysis of 3 other Games

After analyzing the first 7 games, I had to try as much as possible to analyse the three remaining games just by observing their game plays on the internet.

Battle Camp & PokeMMO

These two games from my analysis are very much similar to Pokemon, the subject of my inspiration. They share similar game play patterns, the use of bright colors is present and their level of immersion is the same as that of Pokemon.

PokeMMO

Battle Camp

Battle of Beasts
This game has a major difference from the other games though it is still centered around the idea of capturing beasts. It has a more darker theme and not only does the player catch monsters but trains them and they aid in construction of towns and villages and that is where the immersion of the game is.

Further Analysis of 10 Games

After selecting the 10 games to be analysed, I had to make a more thorough analysis of the game based on the concept of the makers of the respective games. Unfortunately my analysis could cover only 7 of the games since information on just these 7 games could explain the concept and ideas of their designer.

One thing I noticed was that these 7 games though seemingly abstract have a resemblance with everyday life. For instance the designer of Pokemon had his inspiration from his hobby which was catching strange bugs, hence making the mystical creatures in the game have cunning resemblance real life field animals and bugs.
Also the environment of most of these games were based on the region they happened to live in. For instance in Pokemon the environment is based on some villages in Japan.
These games also consisted of bright colored scenes since the main target audience are children.
These games also have a certain high level of immersion which can easily make one addicted since you would want to keep playing till you collect as many monsters as possible and pass as many levels as possible.

Pokemon

Brave Frontier

Fossil Fighters

Digimon

Haypi Monsters

Micromon

Hearthstone

However this game had a little difference with the other games since it was a game which was based on a card system.
