Communicating Practice

Further Analysis of 10 Games

After selecting the 10 games to be analysed, I had to make a more thorough analysis of the game based on the concept of the makers of the respective games. Unfortunately my analysis could cover only 7 of the games since information on just these 7 games could explain the concept and ideas of their designer.

One thing I noticed was that these 7 games though seemingly abstract have a resemblance with everyday life. For instance the designer of Pokemon had his inspiration from his hobby which was catching strange bugs, hence making the mystical creatures in the game have cunning resemblance real life field animals and bugs.
Also the environment of most of these games were based on the region they happened to live in. For instance in Pokemon the environment is based on some villages in Japan.
These games also consisted of bright colored scenes since the main target audience are children.
These games also have a certain high level of immersion which can easily make one addicted since you would want to keep playing till you collect as many monsters as possible and pass as many levels as possible.

Pokemon

Brave Frontier

Fossil Fighters

Digimon

Haypi Monsters

Micromon

Hearthstone

However this game had a little difference with the other games since it was a game which was based on a card system.
