Design Business Strategy

LOC 1 : Demonstrate the research and application of appropriate verbal and non verbal communication skills to meet the expectations of employers within the creative industries.

I achieved this by understanding the roles and responsibilities of the various arms of a business. Also through out the module in my process of finding information of companies and for the growth of my business I have been able to understand that marketing ( ads and merchandise ) go a long way to non verbally help the business attain a good growth.

LOC 2 : Critically asses and demonstrate the skills needed in employment including the theory and practice of working in teams.

My extensive research to find guidance on how to start up my business has made me realize that one man can not handle all the roles in a business or company hence it is only fair to employ a team with special set of skills which serve benefits to the growth of your company and working together as a team to achieve the goals set for the business.

LOC 3 : Critically reflect upon their own personal and professional skills, experience and aspirations and construct a position statement and career development action.

The study of Ansoff's Matrix has made me understand where my business stands and how risky or not it would be. It was very instrumental in achieving learning outcome 3.

LOC 4 : Research and critically evaluate the job market and work cultures within the creative industries. 

Again the Ansoff's Matrix has helped me evaluate the market I desire to introduce my product to and how to drive traffic into my business.

LOC 5 : Analyze and critically evaluate the requirements of recruitment, selection and promotion / progression within  a professional.

By studying the roles and responsibilities of the various human resources require by my business.


In a nut shell I would have to say this module though maybe might not have been too exciting has made me prepared for the future in regards to business, it has made me understand how designers approach the business world and not as a regular business man. It has also provided me with a guide to help me start up my own business.
