Justification of design idea
After selecting the movie I wanted to work on I came
up with three ideas for my poster interface. The reason why I came up with
three was because at every point in time before I settled on a final design I
felt I was not getting the right feel for my movie poster. My poster had four
pages through out my designs, with same mechanisms and number of pages. The
cast is at the bottom, the title at the top, and the production team and house
beneath the title.
Design 1
With the first design I intended to keep five
characters, the four magicians and their coach on the front page with an eye
behind them. There was also going to be animated flying cards on the poster.
The idea was that when the actors are clicked the
actor information page opens, when the title is clicked the synopses page opens
and when the animated card is clicked the movie scenes page opens.
However I was dissatisfied with this initial idea
since it portrayed no element of mystery or crime.
Design 2
Design 2 was a vector design
which had a magicians hat, a card, an eye and the number 2 in it. With similar
mechanisms as the previous design, this poster is made up of four pages. When
the title is clicked you would open the synopses page, when the cast is clicked
you go to the actors information page and when the hat is clicked you go to the
movie scenes page. The eye in this poster is going to be animated and would
fade out into the number 2.
Design 3
The third design is my final
idea. This design is nothing but an upgrade of the second design. This design
has the same elements as the second design the only difference is that the hat
is replaced by the faces of the actors merged together. When the title is
clicked you go to the synopses page, when the faces of the actors is clicked it
would take you to the actors information page and finally when you select the
hand holding the card you go to the movie scenes page. In this poster the
animations are the same as the previous.
