Colour 2 and 3 Dimensions and Writing for Designers

2D Colour
2D colour refers to colours which cannot be felt physically. These colours do not have effect on majority of the senses of the human body only the eyes, they do not produce smell, their textures cannot be felt by the hand either, they only seen usually on swatches by sight.
One way we often get to see 2D colours are through digital means. These digital means could vary from printed images, to photographs, to videos, to editing done using software such as Adobe Photoshop.
Paint pallets on the other hand are not considered 2D, this is because the can be felt on their swatches and even after use on canvas it is easy to smell and felt. This is to say that most of the 2D colours we can find are mostly digital.

For clarity, take a look at img.4 it is clearly a printed out image which I got off a book cover. It shows a woman in a red dress. The texture of the dress cannot be felt neither can you smell it to know what material it could have been made off, all you can do here is to take a wild guess but if instead of printing out the fabric could be attached to the image then we would be able to feel and smell therefor making it 3D.
